Driving Permit
Since 2008, the use of an overhead crane has been strictly reserved for operators who have completed theoretical and practical training in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on Occupational Health and Safety (article 254.1).
EMU offers comprehensive training that allows you to obtain this authorization in full compliance, while ensuring a safe working environment.
Training objectives
- Understand the essential safety principles related to the use of overhead cranes, in accordance with the standards in force in Quebec.
- Master the pre-operational verification steps to prevent incidents related to wear or equipment defects.
- Acquire the practical skills necessary to operate an overhead crane efficiently, precisely, and safely.
- Understand load limits, communication signals, and emergency procedures to respond appropriately in the event of a critical situation.

- Laws and regulations.
- Characteristics of overhead cranes.

- Slings, accessories and their conditions of use.

Who should take overhead crane training?
The training is intended for:
- Anyone who is required to use an overhead crane, whether beginner or experienced.
- Operators in place, in order to update their knowledge and comply with CNESST continuing education requirements.
